Honors English II Homework
Let the madness continue! Your homework is to finish the chart comparing and contrasting FDR's speech to Eleanor Roosevelt's letter. This is due Friday (if you are here) or Monday (if you are absent on Friday).
The reading for Friday will still cover MLK's "I have a dream" speech on pages 10-12 in your info binder. Tear it down by looking at the following concepts: allusion (why does he use it? How does where he uses it shape the meaning of the paragraph?), parallelism and repetition (where is it used? what main ideas does it reveal? how does the use of P&R impact the purpose and audience?), audience (when does he change it? why does he change it?), imagery (what are the main images? Does he change imagery with each audience?), and metaphor (when does he use it? With which audience does he use it? How does it impact his message to his audience?).
