Don't forget about your short story project that is due tomorrow. Your Vietnam essay is due on Tuesday, November 26.

Complete the narrative prompt from class today---write an ending that would best complete the novella. Use dialogue and create a resolution that addresses a central conflict.
THEN, finish reading Of Mice and Men. Read chapters 3-4 in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. We will do an activity with those chapters tomorrow!
You are free from the burden that is the rough draft. Now, while I tackle these drafts, you are responsible again for outside reading.
Please read "Where have you gone, Charming Billy" by Tim O'Brien on pages 131-139 in your info binder. What is the central conflict? How does the main character handle the conflict? How does the setting impact the main character? How does the structure create tension? What is the author's purpose for this story? How do the setting and conflict develop the author's purpose? What is a possible theme from this text? Remember that your rough draft of your semester project is due tomorrow by 3:15. After 3:15, it is late and you are docked 10 points each day it is late. I have not given you much homework over the past two weeks so that you could work on this. #noexcuses
Please read through page 98 in your info binder. We will finish "The Cold Equations" tomorrow. Pay close attention to how the author creates tension through dialogue and setting.
In your info binder, please read from pages 94-95 about "The Cold Equations." We will summarize this on Monday.
Please work on your semester long project paper. Refer to the email or yesterday's post about what the paper looks like and what is expected.
If you need help, please ask! I cannot help you succeed if you are lost and won't ask questions. Make sure that you are working on your paper. I will start assigning more reading again as the unit progresses. I have emailed you all, but in case you cannot find the email, here is another digital look at what you are expected to do. Make sure that you are working on your semester long paper. Do not squander this time.
