English II Homework
On your compound-complex sentences worksheet, I want you to do as we did in class by completing #9-12. Highlight the subordinate clause (or if you do not have a highlighter, place parenthesis around the subordinate clause). Underline the subject, and place two lines under the verb. Circle the comma/conjunction or the semi-colon that joins the sentence together.
9. You are sitting there as though you have nothing better else to do, and I expect more than this! 10. My favorite book, though it is dull to most students, is Pride and Prejudice; my son hates the book. 11. Mark has other work as soon as he is finished with this test, but he will say he does not. 12. While I cleaned my daughter’s room, I discovered empty chip bags and candy wrappers; as a result, she cannot bring any food to her room anymore.
