English II Homework
When 4 out of 20 students turn in note cards, I am disappointed.
Note cards are still due. You cannot begin your paper without them. You have a three-day weekend to work on your cards. Do not waste this time!

Tonight, you should complete 10-15 note cards. This is information pulled from your sources that you will use in your paper. If you go to your works cited page, I have already corrected your entries and HIGHLIGHTED what you should use either in the sentence itself or in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. Avoid copying ALL your information from your note cards. This does not show me you can synthesize information and write it into your own words. Each piece of information should be different from the other pieces of information! Do not repeat the same information in a variety of ways. Yes, my notes below do that because I wanted to show you how a direct quote can be paraphrased and avoid plagiarism. As you pull information, select information that would work best in your paper. Keep in mind how you were going to organize your paper.
If you did not take 10-15 note cards from me, then you may write your 10-15 pieces of information on a sheet of paper (have them numbered) or type the information and share with me on Google Docs. There should be no excuse as to why you cannot do this since I have also given you the notes below on how to write your information in a variety of ways and CITE it correctly. Now that you have your information in hand, take time to find out what makes your person the hero or villain in history. For what is it that he or she is most remembered? How does that person's actions resonate today? Fill in the outline that I have given you. Only use words and phrases to best tell me where you are going with your information. You should not write any direct quotes or specific info from your sources at this time. Hold onto your bonnets! We are in for a whirlwind of a time!
