Honors English II Homework
For homework, you will need to complete the "Unit 3 Review" on the back of your phrases packet. It is only the left side of the page!
Also, I have given you a sheet about editing grammar and punctuation in paragraphs that develop theme using evidence. When we get to this paper, this is what I expect you to be able to do with developing a theme. We will go over this tomorrow.

No homework per se tonight. You have your blackout poem you may work on in preparation for your poetry project.
Remember that below were the directions on the back of your poetry notes sheet from the beginning of the unit. You will compile a poetry notebook that has a common subject (love, hate, hope, etc.) and that will include the following elements: •You will include a poem that is a “black out” poem and explain why you selected the words and phrases that you did. •You will be given a section in which you will create at least 2 forms of your own poetry •You will include three poems of your own selection that we have not read in class. •You will highlight any poetic terms used in the poem. •You will label the highlighted term. Remember to complete the "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" sonnet by Shakespeare.
We will review on Monday with this sonnet and two other poems. Review and edit your essay tonight. Use your TNReady rubric to help guide you!
Vocab quiz tomorrow! Homework: Practice dissecting the poems "I am offering this poem to you" by Jimmy Santiago Baca and "When giving is all we have" by Alberto Rios as we have done in class.
Fly, baby birds, fly! Remember for extra practice, you will need to do #1-10 on exercise 2 for the participles lesson (lesson 20).
