English II Homework
Complete your Police Officer incident report and answer #10 on your notes on the backside of the incident report sheet.
We will take the story from today and do an additional reading text with it tomorrow. Don't forget to work on your A Separate Peace project. It is due Sept. 18. I will take up your books with your project then.

Your A Separate Peace project is due on September 18. Since you have been exposed to the entire book, there is no reason why this project should be late.
The second test of A Separate Peace is tomorrow. It will consist of short answer, multiple choice questions, and multiple select questions. Read over your questions that I gave you answers to. Study, study, study. Tomorrow, you will have an essay prompt with reading passage that will connect to A Separate Peace. Please make sure that you understand the character and events that led up to the ending. Please make sure you look over your vocabulary so that you can use at least 3 words from your list of 18 you have learned over the course of the novel.
On Wednesday, you will take a multiple choice/multiple select/ short answer test. It will cover the characters, events in the text, terms associated with the text (flashback, allusion, foreshadowing, symbolism), and vocab decoding (I'll give you a passage and you have to tell me what the word means in context of the reading). Read the final chapter (chapter 13) in A Separate Peace.
Answer the questions at the bottom of your John Donne "Death be not proud" poem. The questions relate to chapter 12, not chapter 13. Read chapter 12 tonight. Homecoming is coming to an end, and so is our novel!
Remember that you have a vocab quiz tomorrow. Study, study, study. Make-up work should be done as soon as you return. If you are absent and you miss a quiz or a test, you must stay after school to make it up. You may not make it up during class. You have the number of days you miss plus one. Until you make up assignments, the grade is a zero. Think of it as a motivating tool to encourage you to make up assignments in a timely manner. The semester is not done. The first nine weeks is not over. If you aren't doing so well, then change your ways or ask me to stay after school for help. Make sure to read chapter 11 tonight! Field day or not, learning still goes on!
Read chapter 10 of A Separate Peace. Be prepared for a quiz tomorrow!
