Dual Enrollment English 111 and 112
What is up, my people?! It's been a LONGGGG time since we have been in school. While I anticipated having at least two weeks of class to dust off the cob webs of your brains, I sadly do not have that opportunity anymore. What I can say is that we will have a fun semester because we DESERVE to have a fun semester. Am I right, or am I right?
Since we will start the same day as UTM, someone will be in touch with you about signing up for English 111 soon.
For those of you who are eager beavers and want to know about the required reading material for the semester, just know that I do have copies of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. I do not have enough copies of Beowulf edited by Seamus Heaney, but I will post a copy of the PDF onto Canvas (our required LMS for all UTM assignments).
You will need to find a copy of Monsters 2nd edition ISBN: 978-131905633 (You can rent it CHEAPLY from Amazon. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Monsters-Spotlight-Andrew-J-Hoffman/dp/1319056334/ref=sr_1_1?crid=YF8R63N8IIYM&dchild=1&keywords=isbn+%23+978-1319056339&qid=1595963103&sprefix=978-131905633%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1). If you know someone who has a 1st edition of Monsters and wish to use it, please let me know (I do have three copies that other students purchased and left for me to use). There are a few articles we will use that appear in the 2nd edition, but not in the 1st edition.
If you wish to use your own copies of the novels above so that you can annotate in them, here are the ISBN numbers so that you order the correct edition.

So, just in case we have to go online or do an A-B schedule, here is the plan:
Last names A-L will be my Monday, Wednesday, Friday class
Last names M-Z will be my Tuesday, Thursday, Friday class.
Why do we meet as a whole group on Fridays? I am contractually obligated for Fridays for the high school. My contract for UTM is M/W and T/TH.
Below are the schedules. The dates we meet for class the assignments are due. Papers are due on the same day for everyone, which is a Saturday night BEFORE midnight.
